T.G.I.F - Hey Ya'll - It's Been Awhile!

Good Friday Afternoon.

It's been a minute.  Let's all acknowledge that I suck at being consistent with blogging.  But the important part is that I do come back after a while, right?  Haha!  So, what's new with me?  Not too much to be honest.  I changed departments at work about a month ago.  Yeah, so I went from Handpiece Assembly Technician to Suture Assembly Operator!  As soon as a position opens up for quality inspector, I will be applying for that, however.  Jason ended up leaving Electrolux in November and got a job with a company called Beard Equipment as a Yard Coordinator.  He loves working for this new company.  He's grateful he doesn't have to work weekends as am I because we get to spend quality time together.  I ended up having a scare this past month - I went for my pap smear.  I hadn't been in a while due to my mother-in-law being sick and then having to go through depression and grief over her passing.  I had a topical fungal issue on my nipples, so the gynecologist sent me for a diagnostic mammogram.  They ended up finding a 1 cm mass in my left breast unrelated to the fungal issues.  I was prescribed an ointment for the fungal issue and haven't had issues with that since.  After they found the 1 cm mass in my left breast, I was scheduled to have a biopsy.  The biopsy revealed that it was just a benign fibroid.  They placed a titanium marker at the site and want to follow up in 6 months with an ultrasound to be sure nothing has changed.  I also found out that I have HPV (human papilloma virus) but I do NOT have a high-risk genotype.  I just have to repeat my pap smear in one year.  In my blood work, my iron was borderline low which I already knew that because I'm anemic.

Other than that, my back pain has just been getting gradually worse so I will be talking to my doctor about that when I go visit with him in May.  Jason is going for an MRA due to finding out from his younger cousin on his mother's side having two strokes back-to-back and his mom passing away from a stroke that it's hereditary.  He also has a history of migraine headaches.

5/2/2024 (picking back up where I left off - I love how I keep doing this shit...)

Jason's MRA came back normal.  We can only attribute his migraines to being sinus related as this time.  I on the other hand, am struggling greatly with back issues.  I took today off work and will not be doing much over the next 3-4 days or so.  I go to the doctor tomorrow to discuss my back issues and for him to fill out medical documentation for intermittent FMLA / Disability.  I'm literally sitting here with my back massager on as we speak!

I've been dealing with other frustrating shit.  So, one of my cats (Isabelle) has lost about three pounds.  The vet ran bloodwork and found that her thyroid is hyperactive, so she prescribed her thyroid medicine.  I tried to give it to her for two days and she started throwing up, so the vet told me to hold off and to give her a half of a prednisone to help curb any stomach inflammation that might be going on.  If she stops vomiting, to try the thyroid medicine again.  I'm waiting to hear back from the vet to verify that she wants me to start it again.  I had to go up there today and get other medicine because Callie ended up with tapeworms somehow, so I had to get not only tapeworm medicine for Callie, but with everything going on with Isabelle, we thought it would be best to treat her for them as well.  Then ALL four animals got flea prevention so that cost me a small fortune of $297.  The vet that I normally see wasn't there at the moment so when I questioned why the Bravecto was so high ($89 per 3-month dose) when most places sell it for $68.99 or cheaper for the same 3-month dose, the other vet came at me with a full-blown attitude, saying, "Well, I can write you a prescription ($15 per prescription) and you can go anywhere you want to go if you think you can get it cheaper".  Absurdly unprofessional behavior!

We are having an issue with ants in our house, so Jason will be treating the house this weekend with some Ortho Home Defense.  I'm telling you - if it's not one thing, it's another.  I was just going to take a couple days off for my birthday, but since I haven't had proper time off in about 2 years, I decided to take ten days off from work.  I booked an hour and a half massage for my birthday, so I'm excited for that - Jason paid for me to go as my birthday present and I'm sure he will be taking me out to eat that weekend as well.  Been dealing with some other stresses but I won't bore anyone with the details - just everyday life stress, you know?

Since I won't be doing much this weekend, I think I'm going to work on some skin care and start reading a book this weekend as well as get some gaming in.  I've been playing Lost Ark and have been loving it!  I definitely need to find ways to detox from stress.  I've been super on edge lately.
